Project Overview
FLUX is a capstone publication and showcase that addresses personal identity questions such as “Who am I?”, “Who do I want to be?”, as well as “What do I want to say and how do I want to say it?”.
In addition to developing a consistent visual identity for a 100+ page trade paperback book, I was tasked with creating a 3D exhibit containing one main 3D component and other supporting components echoing the book’s decided theme.
My project is an original photo anthology that captures the innate beauty behind moments of flux, something that young people typically miss out on when they are so overwhelmed with navigating the nuances of modern life. Through this, I assert that although people are programmed to focus on their everyday experiences, it is equally as important to focus on the moments that solely exist to take us between them.

Why
FLUX?
This project is essentially a expanded edition of my project Perspective which explores the complex ways that differing perspectives can influence human behavior. Flux takes this concept and applies it in a more literal sense to visuals depicting my own personal perspective during my the end of my collegiate career coinciding with the the production of this book. At this time, I was encouraged to reflect on my college experience in its entirety and this project served to visually capture memories of this period.

Aside from two printed copies of the final book, my display included printed photos used within the book’s layout, a pedestal where visitors could write messages for others to see, a usable window blind taken from one of the book’s spreads, and wearable goggles mimicking photo editing effects from the book. All components and visuals were selected and edited to echo the sensation of flux and how I mentally visualize such a dizzying experience.
